OIL & GAS TOKENIZED COMMODITIES

Physical energy. Precise questions.

A shared energy label does not make two claims equivalent. Explore the commodity context before considering how a digital system might represent an obligation.

01

Compare the units

Specify quantity, measurement basis, quality, location, and period. An energy label should not conceal a difference between physical delivery and price exposure.

02

Follow the logistics

Ask what must happen before performance is complete. An LNG-related claim needs a clear relationship to documents and physical milestones.

03

Inspect the costs

Separate physical handling, storage, administration, and digital transaction charges. A low network fee is not a complete cost description.

Why natural gas context matters

EIA identifies production, storage, imports and exports, weather, economic activity, and competing fuels as factors in natural gas prices. An energy token’s description still needs to explain how its specific claim relates to any reference price or operating receipts. [Source]

LNG is a physical process

LNG is natural gas cooled for transport and storage and later regasified where the process requires it. A proposed digital claim does not replace that physical chain. Our LNG article uses a hypothetical workflow to show which records and obligations should remain connected. [Source]

A comparison is not a recommendation

Use consistent questions for each proposed claim: what is owed, by whom, in which unit, under which conditions, and with what exit? Do not turn differences into an investment ranking without the actual documents and an appropriate professional assessment.
